Tai Ji Bao
Tai Ji Bao is an original series I conceptualized and illustrated for Synthesis Workshops’ Illustration Mentorship program. It combines the traditional and contemporary – token Chinese elements (kung fu, pandas, food) mixed with modern isometric art.
I compiled a list of classic Chinese food elements such as the takeout container, steamed buns, and other dishes. These were converted into buildings and vehicles. I also illustrated artwork inspired by old Chinese movie posters, and a motion cycle of Bao, the panda-inspired mascot.
All designs are sketched by hand on paper first, including each unique food building and vehicle. It combines the traditional and contemporary – token Chinese elements (kung fu, pandas, food), mixed with modern isometric & flat art.
